Reeves recently contracted COVID. He's ok but getting monoclonal antibodies to speed his recovery. This picture made him think of me, in his doctor's officer.

I will admit, I'd never really paid much attention to him in the 90s when he came on my radar; wasn't really into the whole Bowie scene etc, as I was comfortably ensconced in my little metal world ( still am, to a big extent ) , despite digging some Bowie stuff.....I remember his forays into Tin Machine etc. but again, didn't really pay much attention....probably to my detriment. Fast forward to early 2000 or thereabouts, the newly opened Experience Music Project at Seattle Center ( does that place even exist anymore?! ) was putting on this Guitar-A-Thon type of thing, it was a contest with different categories & all these hot shredders showed up, to show off & do their thing, & be judged. So I thought cool, why not? The two big main guests/judges with any celebrity reknown were Steve Vai & Reeves Gabrels. Vai got up & did a stellar set & then Reeves got up & played.....( actually I don't remember who was 1st ) ....& Reeves knocked my freaking socks off!! Whoa that guy was the whole package. He sang, he played guitar.....he shredded & he ROCKED. Sad thing is, I had NO IDEA....what this guy was capable of.I mean, I knew he must be good but I'd just never really given him the time....His music was totally unfamiliar, I'd never heard any of these tunes before. No idea about the band, no idea what songs they were playing...I just remember instantly realizing this guy is the real deal. Of course, I forgot about him not long after.I need to rectify that.
