soonerbillz, you're going into the 'wayback machine for these old links. Eric sold that Escape to a friend at Autoweek if memory serves for his son's first auto, and it ran many years thereafter.
I'm currently driving an Audi SQ5 with about 80k miles on it. I think about a newer auto, but this one still floats my boat when I get behind the wheel. Got a jet offtake and a great B&O stereo and good bluetooth for smartphones. Carries my suitcases and guitar cases, and amps if necessary.

We're renting an Audi Q7 right now since our Benz got creamed by a hit & run driver, and I have to say I am almost a convert to Audi after just a week driving this thing. The adaptive headlights are amazing!

How do they come up with names for vehicles now? Isn't "Escape" what the driver tries to do when the vehicle is upside-down in a body of water?

According to the article linked below, this is how the Edge, Escape, Expedition and Explorer were named: "Ford’s SUVs all purposefully share similar roots to their names that indicate their adventurous nature. Each name has to do with making a journey into new territory." Here's the link: Ford names

Explorer's were infamous for bad transmission problems, recalls etc., hence the nickname "Exploder" among all the mechanics I knew....

This generally because even more than other drivers they seem to be intent on killing or maiming us .
If you don't get the abbreviation please don't ask for a translation as it is likely to cause offence (to Audi owners) .

Knowing you Brits, I think it is safe to say it might be "...something... in Audis"?

I only owned Chevy’s for 30 years, but the last 15 it’s been Toyota’s, Corolla, Camry, and RAV4’s. Other than tires, brakes or batteries, I’ve never had any problems with them.

Do UK bikers have problems with drivers of performance cars, like Audi "S" models or BMW "M" series? I'd imagine the biggest sin of motorists regarding motorcycles is inattention.
