Hey Buck & everyone!
I've been lurking for a while, and finally joined the board yesterday, so this is my first post. Been a fan since forever ago. First saw BOC on 8/23/81, at the 4th Golden Summernight Concert in Darmstadt, Germany. This was the 2nd show BOC played after Albert left the band (the first was the 8/22/81 Monsters of Rock show at Donington). Also playing on the bill were Iron Maiden, Kansas, Blackfoot, 38 Special, Motorhead, and Foreigner. Maybe a couple of others I'm forgetting. But BOC, who was the next-to-last band of the night (before Foreigner) was my favorite that night. And they've been my favorite ever since. I've since seen the band in arenas, nightclubs, casinos, biker bars, and theaters. Every show has been fun and worth going to. Most recently saw the band on 10/30/21 in Philly at the Keswick Theater, and it was a great one, with Eric in full garb for The Alchemist during the encore.
Anyway. On to a comment/question.
I am absolutely in love with The Symbol Remains, and think it's a fantastic addition to the band's output. Seeing the tracks performed live confirm to me how well they stand amongst the BOC classics. So I'm interested to see if there can be a continuation of the current momentum, with the band going back into the studio to record a follow up. I'm guessing there are some leftover and/or not fully developed tracks from the Symbol sessions that could be used (?).
Also - I love the two band tracks (Demon's Kiss and The Horsemen Arrive) on the Bad Channels soundtrack, but tend to think they're underrated because the soundtrack didn't see significant distribution and didn't sell like a typical BOC album. I'd love to see these two tracks get re-recorded and included on any possible follow on album. I think they'd sound great next to any newer material. Any chance?
Wishing everyone a safe and healthy 2022!
