Id never heard this Joe Satriani story. I know the whole project/process was disjointed from the BOC norm. Any recollection about any of it Buck ?

I don't remember where but this is not the 1st time I have heard of this on Imaginos. The above is from the Ultimate Guitar interview I think.

I've heard that before also - I think other members of the Imaginos Guitar Army had a similar thing going on - eg that Biederman guy who's always posting about the fact on FB... and nobody knows how much of all that finally made it onto the actual record itself... ok, put this way, if somebody knows, they seem to be keeping it to themselves...

By far Buck’s best work. He was really up for this record. Why they never play Siege or the title track, I’ll never know.
April fool.
Actually, I have virgin vinyl, my brother dubbed his, for me, he suspected it wasn’t Buck, so it could only be one other thing. Sacrilege. I’ve never heard the songs I mentioned, above. Loved the tour though!

However this became known as a BOC record remains a mystery to me. The names on the cover with vocals by Buck and Eric - that's all. Corporate theft in my book!

AFAIK the band had a contract to give one more album but the band was really in disarray at the time so the label, Sandy and Albert put this together and the sessions were filled in with non band members just to get it done. Yeah lots of folks consider it a BÖC album in name only. Personally I love it.

After Columbia rejected the 1981 Imaginos, Sandy moved to SF and opened the studio at Hyde St. While he was there, Sandy recorded many musicians on multiple 24trk "slave" reels of 2" tape playing the same parts I wound up playing in 1985. Joe Satriani and whoever else.
Eric and I finished Imaginos with a BOC record advance as a favor to Sandy. We thought it should see the light of day. Technically, all the original members had contributed something to the music.
Eric and I sang, at different times in SF, and I played a lot of guitar that wound up not getting used, 'cause I could tell it wasn't me. It wasn't credited who it was, and where, and I don't know who would know. Maybe engineer Paul Mandl.
It's all water under the bridge now.

Thanks Buck for correcting me. I'm guilty of spreading 8+ hand stories obviously and appreciate hearing the truth from the real characters in this play.

It's all water under the bridge now. But is it perfect water? (I'll see myself out....)
