The Lovecraft-Bullwinkle connection

Recently I bought Lovecrafts complete fiction collection from Audible, the first book read was The Alchemist, so that was cool. The next was Mountains of Madness and two of the characters were named Sherman and Peabody. If you remember your Bullwinkle history, you'll remember that there was a segment with a smart dog named Mr. Peabody and he had a boy named Sherman. 

Not sure that thats where the Bullwinkle writers got the names, but im kinda sure.
