4,440 shows points: and there you have it, hands down, this year's inductee into the 2022 "Rock'n Road Hall of Fame"

Tomato/Tomatto. :) <I edited original post to shows instead of points to match magazine article: 8/21/2022>Quite impressive in either measurement system.

Quite impressive in either measurement system. But does it agree with the number of gigs listed on Ralph's Hotrails site? Ralph is very precise, so I would trust his number to be more accurate.

Well, here's a url showing all the current numbers that I have (top right panel) - based on the shows that I know about. Bear in mind, though, that the precision I strive for is in a constant state of flux as a result of the unknown number of unknown gigs... plus, just last week I had to remove two 70's gigs from the lists when I found old newspaper reports that reported them as cancelled, so the number can go down as well as up... www.hotrails.co.uk/giglopaedia/boc_stats.htmBTW: The same page also shows how many gigs have been played in each state, and you might be surprised at the state with the most shows...

Iโm positive the Ramones played over 2000 shows as well. My friend Adam went to see them in the early 90s. My wife got to see them as well and she had temporary hearing loss from that show.

The article doesn't say how they calculated their totals or what data source they used. Your 4399 gig total sure is close to the magazine's 4440 show total. That's less than a 1% difference.

Just since June 7, 1988, when Dylan began his so called "Never Ending Tour" he has played over 3000 shows. Think about all the gigs he did first in Coffee Houses as a folkie, to his time going electric in '65 with The Band, and all those countless shows and tours in the 70's and 80's. I think he has everyone beat, except maybe B.B. King.
