Brooklyn 99 I caught a few eps and found them funny. Watched the first two eps of Jack Ryan season 4.It's only 6 eps.So far so good.Wendell Pierce is back Michael Pena is a nice addition. The writers strike has curtailed the start of many shows. Walking Dead Dead City is pretty good. 1883,1923 and Yellowstone are held up as is The Old Man(Jeff Bridges) and others. Blacklist is ending and I'm loving these last episodes. One of my fave shows of all-time. From finished season 2 with a surprise ending setting up an interesting start to Season 3.It's a really good IMO horror show. Wendell Pierce - he's great. He really fits the part. Tonight we watch the first ep of season 4. Michael Pena - another good one. Really liked him in Narcos:Mexico. Another great show. Some people we know can't handle it. :) From what I've heard, it's rated G compared to reality, at least today's reality. FYI: Jack Ryan season 4 is the final season. A spin-off with Pena seems to be in the works: deadline.com/2022/05/jack-ryan-end-season-4-final-season-spinoff-michael-pena-ding-chavez-amazon-tom-clancy-1235014723/Walking Dead Dead City - wish we could watch, but we don't have AMC+ Oh well. Blacklist: we really liked that one back in the day. A fav. At some point we stopped watching ALL network shows. Number of reasons, schedule being one. It's available streaming I think, but I can't remember where we left off.

Jack Ryan 4 is only 6 eps -they are showing them in 3 separate showings of 2 eps each. If you'd like me to send you the Dead City eps I can.PM your address.I think the series is only going to be 6 eps long.

Bosch:Legacy
Season 2 is now here as of Fri, Oct 20, 2023. I haven't watched it yet.
But only the first 4 episodes are available so far. 10 eps are planned and dates have been set, not sure if in stone, with Ep 10 scheduled for Nov 17.
Available for free (with ads) on the streaming channel "Freevee". Freevee is owned by Amazon and all the links I tried re-directed to login to Amazon (which we have). We have a Freevee app on our Roku box, but I'm not sure it requires Amazon or if it is standalone.

Titus has played good and bad guys I think he was a bad guy in Hack the David Morse show and a mob guy in the series Falcone which was really good. Titus has appeared in a number of police/legal shows. The list goes on and on, so I'm only listing the ones where he was in 3 or more episodes. The list does NOT even include the movies. NYPD Blue Murder One Brooklyn South Big Apple Sons of Anarchy 1The Good Wife CSI (aka CSI: Las Vegas) The Mentalist Bosch Law & Order SVU Bosh: Legacy Note 1: Sons of Anarchy wasn't really a police show, but it was definitely a crime show. Titus was a major player in 13 episodes. SOA remains one of my all time favorite shows, but it is NOT for everybody. The technical adviser for the show was a real member of the Hell's Angels. In fact several other Hell's Angles appeared in guest roles. A number of actors from the gritty police drama "The Shield" ended up with roles of some sort on SOA. SOA was followed by the spinoff Myans M.C. I've only seen a couple of eps of it because I don't currently get FX. SOA was a good show. But, the ending…..

SOA wasn't just a good show, it was a GREAT show. I didn't like the ending either. It closed the door on any hopes of another season. It's a show I'd watch again, but it would HAVE to be an uncensored version.
Kurt Sutter (the creator) did a really good job of casting the right actor/actress for the right role. I kind of wondered how Katey Sagal, aka "Peg Bundy" managed to get cast as Gemma Teller. She's Kurt Sutter's wife in real life. And she ended up being perfect for the part. So was Ron Perlman. And of course Charlie Hunnam as Jax. And of course having an Angles member as an actor and advisor didn't hurt...

Yep SOA is a classic, shame it finished I reckon it had at least another season in it. There were rumours of a prequel but that seems to have gone quiet now, I would have watched that too. I have seen the first three seasons of Mayans MC & it's good but not quite SOA but was getting better. Unfortunately after season three it then vanished from terrestrial TV & the DVD's for seasons four & five aren't available over here, so no idea if it became as good as Sons.

BTW: the latest Sandford - "Judgement Prey" - is out... it's Davenport AND Flowers again, so that's obviously going to be the norm going forward... although it didn't knock my socks off, I enjoyed it well enough... if things go to form, there should be a new Letty Davenport book out in a few months also, so keep an eye out for that... Also worthy of note, the new Reacher has just come out - "The Secret"... the thing is - I don't actually read anymore: somehow I've lost that desire and I always go with audiobooks these days - I always have them all on an ipod tucked into a pocket as I go about my daily routines, so, in a sense, I'm constantly experiencing books, if not physically reading them... anyway, Reacher audiobooks have usually always come in two flavours, narrator-wise: initially Dick Hill, who was great, and Jeff Harding, who basically... isn't... anyway, since Dick Hill retired, it's been the ubiquitous Scott Brick who's taken over, and he's pretty good, but for some reason, there's always a lag before his version becomes available... which is a roundabout way of saying, I haven't heard "The Secret" yet - I do have the Jeff Harding version as a backup, but I'll only play it if I can't get the Scott Brick one - a sort of, "in case of emergency break glass" scenario... so I don't yet know if it's any good or not... I do know that it's a retrospective though, back from when Reacher was an MP, so that'll be interesting (hopefully)... Also BTW, and apropos nothing in particular: I've often heard good things about Repairman Jack, but I previously haven't got round to checking him out. Now, I'm rather a fan of Jonathan Maberry's "Joe Ledger" series, which combines secret special govt operations with (occasionally supernatural) mayhem and violence, and the latest Ledger book included a guest appearance by Repairman Jack, which seemed an odd cross-fertilisation but which also alerted me that it's probably about time I checked him out properly...

I don't remember hearing about a prequel, but I could visualize a decent version of one. Need enough main characters to make it SOA, but unknowns could have been used to start things off. Oh well..
I've only watched a couple eps of Mayans. We don't get the channel it comes on, so I can't say how it is/was. Maybe it will turn up as a free one sometime later.
I agree, SOA had at least one more episode of life left, but was not to be. Too bad.
The stuff being made today: there is some good sci-fi, but NOTHING close to the likes of SOA that I know of. Narcos and Narcos:Mexico are the only ones that come to mind - they were good but not SOA quality.

We've watched the first 4 episodes of Bosch:Legacy Season 2 Season 2 is really good so far! Maybe better than Season 1, but I don't remember S1 all that well. The continuation of the end of Season 1 (the kidnapping)... ...gets wrapped up in the first 2 episodes. Really well done. A prison scene caught me off-guard. An inmate was sitting at a table with his back facing the camera. The lettering on the back said: "B O C" Cool.

In the last month I've waded through the latest books by John Sandford, Lee Child's brother and Michael Connelly, and here are my thoughts:
Judgment Prey - John Sandford With the Virgil Flowers sub-series having been dropped, it's the Dynamic Duo of Davenport and Flowers back in the saddle again as they investigate the murder of a judge and his two sons. I enjoyed the book well enough, but it didn't knock my socks off or anything - it had an interesting feature in that parts seemed to be presented from the p.o.v. of the assumed killer... or is it...? Anyway, if you're a fan, you'll like it. If you're not already a fan, you might not be overly impressed... 7/10
The Secret - Lee Child and Andrew Child This one goes back to the 1992 when Reacher was still an army MP. Eight respectable, upstanding people have been found dead across the US - the deaths look like accidents and don’t appear to be connected until one body – the victim of a fatal fall from a hospital window – generates some unexpected attention. Reacher is somehow assigned to be part of an inter-agency task force tasked with investigating the matter. For me, this book wasn't terrible, but neither was it all that good. There were none of the qualities that set the (especially early) Reacher books apart from what went before. This one did nothing for me, I'm sad to say... it felt like it was phoned in... 5/10
Resurrection Walk - Michael Connelly The more recent books in the Harry Bosch universe series have largely centred on Renee Ballard, but this one goes back to Harry's half brother, lawyer Micky Haller. I've never been much of a fan of courtroom dramas, or at least, I didn't think I was, until I came across Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer books, and now, I think I might just prefer them to the purely Bosch books. Although it looked like Harry was being relegated to the back burner in recent books (I won't say why, as it'd be a bit of a spoiler), he's also in this one, and again, it's an interesting literary device with the Bosch portions being delivered in the third person, and the main Haller sections being in the first person. I don't think I've seen that with any other author. Anyway, I enjoyed this book a lot, and can recommend it highly. 8.5/10

I am a big fan of all these authors and have read most of their books prior to about 5 years ago. Reacher got too predictable for me. The Prey novels were still good but didn't grip me like the earlier books did. I will pick up Connolly's new one based on DB's recommendation

Mickey Haller is Harry Bosch's half brother? Crazy cool.
I can't speak to the books, but for the movie and current series:
Whether it be Matthew McConaughey playing Haller in the 2011 movie, or Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Haller in the current Netflix series, the Mickey Haller character IS GREAT. Both actors really bring Haller alive, which makes the movie/series.

We watched the final episode of Bosch:Legacy Season 2 a couple nights ago. The ending definitely sets it up for another season. IMDB already has a placeholder for it. Spoiler: Maddie is connected to her first officer-involved shooting
Looks like there is still some quality CURRENT shows being made. Hope it continues in that direction.
