Thanks all. Yeah.. decades of collecting rare vintage bike and auto parts disappeared in 4 hours. 10's of thousands of of $$ value.. that I'm sure the insurance will never match. Some parts were irreplaceable.

Just ask.

How can we help? Just ask. Appreciate that.. really do. Truth is there really not much anyone can do at the moment. I'm right now picking through and salvaging what little I can. I'll rebuild the shop. Just waiting now on the insurance company to pay me for the cleanup costs and then get the new shop built. Then the long process of replacing all the tools and equipment. All the other stuff.. well mostly it can't be replaced as it was all so personal or was rare. I have another barn with several unrestored bikes so likely they just jumped up to the front. The hardest part for me was losing all my racing memorabilia and personal stuff. Things that will never be replaceable. Memories. Saturday some freinds loaned me a vintage bike and we all went on a long ride in the country. 42 of us all told. Wind therapy. Later at the house I put on some headphones, put on some BÖC and cracked a bottle. I'm ok. Really, thank you for the offer and letting me have a place to unwind. I'll always be OYFOOYK FOREVER.

Hi Soonerbillz, hope the pain of your loss is getting a little better each day. I had an idea I wanted to share... no worries to ignore it, but maybe it'll help. When I had a barn fire once, and I had to compile a list of items for the insurance company. I found creating that list painful at first, but as I went on it became therapeutic. Like you I had many irreplaceable items. Things they don't make anymore or personal, sentimental items. I painstakingly detailed each item as best as I could remember and found myself reliving good memories about so many of those things; that had I still had them...they would have remained out of sight...out of mind. But suddenly, this flood of rich memories from having to think in detail about it all was somehow like a "gift". Just sharing my experience, yours may be different.
Anyway, my idea about this is share your list of "special things" (nothing personal you wouldn't want to share of course). Maybe among us current or ex bikers, friends,whomever... we may even be able to help you find some of those things out there somewhere. I think this thread would be perfectly fine for that....

Thanks man. Yeah it's tough to bear but I just have to be thankful nobody was hurt. The outpouring of thoughts, offers of help and the love my family(both real and biker) has helped me stay ok. I picked up a new bike project this week so the rebuilding of my shop and this bike gives me plenty to do to keep from being overly morose.
