"Back in 1994, Beavis and Butt-Head gave their thoughts on Radiohead's Creep, and summed up the whole of 90s alt-rock in the process."
Quoted from the Loudersound article: “Well Beavis, if they didn't have like a part of the song that sucked, then it's like, the other part wouldn't be as cool" could just as easily be applied to all aspects of life and not just 90s rock tunes. You just need to change "song" for “my child’s school assembly” or “a walk with the in-laws”.
"There's just time for one more nugget from the duo, absolutely nailing the whole alt. rock aesthetic."
I think B&B was a "love it" or "hate it" show. I was in the "love it" group, but you probably figured that. :) I converted my wife too, but it didn't take a lot of convincing. Even today if we're watching or listening to something on TV or on the radio that one of us thinks is really no good, the words "This sucks - change it!" seems to get belted out from one of us. Four simple words that says everything that needs to be said.
Their comments on the music videos embedded in the shows were hilarious! I didn't agree with all, but a lot of times they would really nail it. Their show was an entertaining way to get a quick glimpse into bands that I didn't even knew existed. So technically the B&B show was an educational show. Why have a 3-page article discussing how good or bad a song or band is when B&B could do it in seconds?
My wife bought me the complete B&B collection on DVD a number of years ago. To my disappointment the music videos were NOT included. To me, the comments and the videos were as entertaining as the rest of the show. That sucked.
I don't remember them including any BÖC video, but I wonder what they would have said? One can only imagine coming from those two.
