I've always been facinated by players who do not use a pick. (Urban, Buckingham, J.J. Cale to name a few). Watching Mark Knopfler play Romeo and Juliet blows me away. I've tried like hell to learn it and just could never get my fingers to get in line. We all know Buck uses one but he has such a unique picking style that sometimes it sounds like he isnt.. DFTR is a prime example of that.

DFTR is a prime example of that. Buck's fluent cross-picking is to thank for that (I think)...very fluid and does often sound like fingerpicking. The master can correct me if I'm wrong about that...
