You could always give a GanTube amplifier a try. Let me know how it works - after you scrape up the cash to buy one Only about $15,000 for a pair. agdproduction.com/product/vivace/(No, it's really not a "tube" amp. It's a "Gallium Nitride Power Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET)" solid state amp packaged in a vacuum tube enclosure) From stereophile.com

I've heard so much over years about today's amps not having the "warmth" of a tube amps. I gotta agree. When I plug in straight (no pedals) to my old fender twin it sounds somehow deeper than my newer Kustom. Granted, I'm not even remotely pro but just kicking around the house.

Have you tried something like the Humboldt Simplifier? It's an all-analog setup and has a quite tiny footprint. It seems to me to have more of an "amp-like" response than the modeling units, although it won't achieve what some of the more complicated modelers will in-terms of versatility. It seems as I'm growing older, I'm losing patience for complicated units with a lot of scrolling thru menus.

Better than average interview with poor editing; it's a shame no one ever asks BD about his use of cascading/overlapping delay. IMHO that has been a hallmark of his sound since the early 90's; again, IMHO only.

Think about how good Astronomy from "Cult Classic" is due to that!!!!!!!

From the article (Buck)“We just wanted to make great LPs, and we did that. The worst thing you could say about us was that we were interesting, if nothing else. We weren’t like AC/DC, where you listened to a few songs and knew what to expect. We never wanted to do that. We explored a lot, and I’m very proud of the ride.”
There is so much about that statement that makes me happy! It is nice that Buck recognizes their uniqueness, and that he is able to say he has enjoyed the ride. When I watch him perform live, I always wonder if he realizes just how special he is, and the influence he has had on so many people’s lives.
