Not knocking Imaginos, I'm just not that into it to watch a >1 hour discussion. But for some of you that are, from YouTuber "Lair of the Alchemist" on Feb 12, 2024:
"Author Martin Popoff joins me at the Lair to discuss the second book in his Imaginos series "Perfect Water: The Rebel Imaginos". Martin and I delve into the Imaginos Mythos and it's connection to Blue Oyster Cult.
(not sure how "Perfect Water" fits in, but oh well maybe it's halfway into it. I guess I could have watched it while I was stuck on jury duty the other day.)

I'm not sure I'd use the word "official" but I would say that Popoff is the most "authoritative" of authors who's published anything like a biography of the band thus far. I'm holding hope that someday there will be a Ralph-Bolle collaboration....that would be definitive and probably as close as it will ever get to "official"...IMHO

For an actual published writer he's about as close as you get. For a massive amount of BOC history, the hotrails.co.uk site probably has the most "raw" data. Apple and orange comparison, depends on what you're looking for.
Enter Popoff in the "Search" menu of this forum and you will find a lot of discussion here about him, or on things he has written. There's quite a bit to dig through, but you might get a feel about how some of the more senior (not age-wise, BOC knowledge wise than EITHER of us are) members here think. I didn't take time to dig through everything.
He is a prolific writer. Search on Amazon for "Martin Popoff" and you will see that he has written about quite a few bands.
(FYI, for me half the time the forum's search function can't find things I just got through reading. Not sure what the problem is.)

Official or not any commentary on BÖC history is appreciated. It's not like Rolling Stone or any contemporary is gonna give any fucking love to the boys. ....because they hate real rock. Fucking Posers 😡

Used to read Rolling Stone faithfully when they actually loved music more than politics. Random Notes and album reviews were a must read for me. Thier review of Flat Out was very favorable when it came out.
