While I was waiting in line to get inside the Fillmore to see Motörhead back in September, there was a Zac Brown concert taking place at the at the Tiger Stadium, so there was literally two different lines: One full of mostly hairy rock 'n' rollers and the other being full of country hillbillies. A guy behind me was making comments about the people in the other line, calling them a bunch of country assholes. XD

Anyone else see Chris Stapleton on Saturday Night Live last night? He was friggin' great. He took me back to Deadhorse, Alaska at "the Bad Attitude Club", where rotating musicians took their turn in the Sag River Band (Sagavanirktok River on The North Slope). Every night there was live music from Teamsters, Engineers and Surveyors and more. Stuck on a 14 week on, 5 week off rotation. A Country Song, all by itself.

Chris Stapleton is the real deal. Good that he's getting recognized.
Ironically, Zac Brown was pretty good a few years ago. "Free" and "Home Boy" are two Zac Brown tunes I really like, corny like country used to be, but the sincerity was there, and the music and musicianship was top notch.

Check out Jason Isbell. I dislike new country and favor the stuff from the 60s and 70s (Buck Owens, Waylon, Tompall Glaser, etc) but Isbell is the real deal. Country/Americana. Stellar songwriting.
