Yep, worst year in my memory anyways.....
He was truly one of the best guitarists out there......wasn't a shredder & didn't pretend to be, didn't need to be. What he was, he was super melodic, tasty & played raunchy & powerful.....his playing had a lot of heart. His tone simply ruled, I try to cop magnificent guitar tone like that....even with all my gear, it truly was in his hands.....I believe he impacted a lot of guitarists since he came on the scene.
RIP Leslie

I was just listening to Nantucket Sleighride the other day. It was my Deep Track of the Day on Facebook for the 18th. What a tone, what an unmistakable and powerful rock voice.

I've always liked Mountain's cover of Jack Bruce's "Theme for an Imaginary Western". RIP.

Leslie was another of the many talented Long Island/NYC people. I just listened to "Mississippi Queen" on headphones. You plainly hear the hum of Leslie's guitar amp in the opening and fade. It must have been really loud in the studio. They don't write/play 'em like that anymore. Sad his health was bad.

The music for RU Ready 2 Rock was inspired by Mississippi Queen, per Albert.
