RIP Michael Stanley of “The Michael Stanley Band”, and in recent years, “Michael Stanley and The Resonators”. Michael passed March 05, 2021.
Michael was a Rock and Roll icon in the “Northcoast” Cleveland Ohio / Midwest U.S. and Weatern Pennsylvania areas. In the late 70’s and 80’s MSB would routinely sell out the area big arena venues like the Richfield Coliseum and Blossom Music Center.
Michael was also the afternoon drive time personality for WNCX 98.5 radio in Cleveland OH for over 30 years.
He was a good man, personal friend and I will miss him.

I saw them as an opening act in California in the 80's. I was very impressed with their sound and songs. Alas they didn't have much airplay on the west coast and so I was not very familiar with them. But Ohio and Penn folks were diehard.

I just heard he was ill a few days ago and in the last couple of months been listening to some of his stuff from the late 70's early 80's.
He was a part of the Belkin Maduri stable out of Cleveland that had a slew of artists from the Cleveland - Youngstown - Pittsburgh market. It was a vibrant scene back then that included Michael, Donnie Iris, The Iron City Houserockers and others, all of whom I've seen many times with many fond memories. He will be missed. RIP Michael.

Rich-I have 100's of airchecks from the 90's out of Youngstown of an oldies show DJ'd by Johnny B and they're all interview shows with major Doo Wop artists.

Speaking of Youngstown, The Human Beinz were out of there in the 1960's and had a hit with Nobody But Me..originally penned by the Isaly Brothers..I saw an interesting interview with Joe "Ting" Markulan, who was their rhythm guitarist. There were many a more "Hits" out of Youngstown..but not music hits. That was a rough ass town! LOL One of my favorite BOC shows was there at a biker rally sometime in the mid to late 90's. It was on a Buffalo ranch just west of Youngstown and BOC smoked. John Kay and Steppenwolf opened and they laid it down as well. Good times.

I've been to Club Bene as performer and patron. I saw Todd Rundgren there with Kasim and Prarie Prince, and the touring company of The Commitments, where the manager character was the singer, and the first drummer was actually really good.

Former ENTOMBED and current ENTOMBED A.D. singer Lars-Göran Petrov passed away on Sunday, March 7 after a battle with bile duct cancer. He was 49 years old. In a statement, his ENTOMBED A.D. bandmates wrote: "We are devastated to announce that our beloved friend Lars-Göran Petrov has left us. Our brother, leader, vocalist, our Chief Rebel Angel went on another ride last night. It's with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that Lars-Göran Petrov has left us. He was (is!!!) an incredible friend, and a person that has touched so many people. He has changed so many lives with his voice, his music, his character and his unique personality. www.blabbermouth.net/news/entombed-a-d-singer-lars-goran-petrov-dead-at-49/
