They say that '21 is gonna be a good year. We'll see.
My sympathy and encouragement for anyone who had a tough time this year or lost loved ones. 2020 was bum in too many respects to list. May we all do better this year.
One good thing about 2020 was this very forum. Thanks to all who've posted here this year. The content has been lively and interesting and the discourse civil and considerate, and I salute and thank all of you. I've been psyched to participate, and it's encouraged me to be a bit more candid with you all than I might have been otherwise. Bravo, folks.
I wish everyone the best in '21!

While 2020 wasn't the entry into the new decade that I was expecting, I at least still made positive memories to avoid feeling down and dreary throughout the year. I do however look forward to a better year into 2021 for me and everyone else.
I admit I'm not as active on posting on the forum as I was five years ago, but the amount of increased fan activity on the site thanks to the new album amazes me!
Happy belated holidays and a happy new year everyone!

To quote A Long December from Counting Crows, “Maybe this year will be better than the last”.
My personal belief is more like “All hail the apocalypse”, Avatar

I meant this particular forum. We gots kinda mean, nasty, and dirty when discussing politics, especially. I think that was Bucky D was referring to in his post.

I hope 2021 brings endless blessings to us all. I hope that whatever wounds we suffered in 2020 heal. I hope that this whole becomes a memory that whatever the "new normal" is, it is the best for all of us.
Coming back to this place after so long away was one of the good parts of 2020. I haven't been around since 2012ish, and even that was brief. I really haven't been around this regularly for about 13-14 years. Undergrad, personal turmoil, and then law school just kind of.... pushed me into my very small circle of local friends for a long time and that's where I stayed. I lost way too many friends in 2020. Three to cancer and one to suicide. I know time is a construct and it's just an arbitrary measurement, but I think we all know that just a lot of really bad shit happened in a really short amount of time, however you measure it. I look forward to putting it in my rearview. Maybe this year starts off with us still in quasi-lockdown, but it won't end that way.
Things I have to look forward to: My 4th wedding anniversary in March. I'll have my first dose of the vaccine sometime in April-May according to the schedule. Going to see BOC in June should all go according to plan. Going to take the Delaware bar in July and my second go at the MPRE in August. My wife and I plan to visit the Redwoods in California in September if we have enough saved by then (if not we'll just chill at the Jersey shore lol). My band is recording our first album and if we are REALLY disciplined it could be "out" (albeit independently released and online only) by the end of the year.
I hope we all get to make 2021 a great year.
