With my tinnitus, you could play it with gold plated diapers on and I couldn’t tell the difference. You've got tinnitus bad too, huh? Growing up, my mom would scold me that I would go deaf listening to that evil rock and roll, and goddamn, she was right. Gold plated diapers, lol. Yeah, mine started 2 years ago. First it was just ringing, then swooshing, now it’s like 1000 cicada’s in my head. Mainly from headphones and concerts, but I was also in a mechanized combat unit for three years, no ear protection. Only relief is sleep. I’d give both kiwi for a cure.

Stewart when I deployed to W. Germany for REFORGER ‘79.

My doc said hearing aids might help turn the noise down, Marty.

I have never heard the vinyl version of "Symbol." Vinyl sounds pretty good. I have only played the black vinyl. The other six...soon to be seven...different color vinyls will stay sealed. You know me!!!

Meade, MD there and it was the 24th then. It soon was reflagged as 3rd ID.

Have to say I'm also a tinnitus suffer. Years of listening to & playing loud music plus years of riding motorbikes without earplugs (nobody I knew wore them until the early nineties)have taken their toll. It really can be really awful sometimes, apparently hearing aids do help but I'm still too vain to wear them.

My (limited) understanding about tinnitus is that people have very particular and individualized frequencies that they hum to (INSERT GRATUITOUS DYNAMO HUM REFERENCE), and that hearing aids can be tuned like an equalizer to work around one's limitations. It seems to me that the concepts behind noise-cancelling headphones should also be relevant to reducing tinnitus hum. I'm just speculating here, I haven't done any hardcore research yet.

I have tinnitus and major hearing loss in my right ear ever since I was a teenager. I wear a hearing aid now and had to have my head examined for a tumor because of just how bad the hearing loss is. It wasn't a tumor.

It wasn't a tumor. Yes I had the brain tumor false alarm three years ago. Like you I dodged the bullet.
