well, touring in Europe that is (even if UK is not part of EU anymore)
the Hollywood Vampires tour just got cancelled (August in Paris) as the Kansas show in Paris, in November. Both shows were at the Olympia (best venue in the world, remember)
so, the actual question is : from your end, what do you think will happen in October ? do you see the tour as a go ? or a no go ? or a why-do-you-ask-you-pesky-frenchie ?

I don't think BOC will cancel, but if the venue and/or France isn't open, it's out of our control. I'm vaccinated, personally, I'm good to go. Not sure about the rest of the band. The youngsters aren't yet eligible for shots yet I think. If the Deep Purple shows don't go off, we might not come at all, but it's really not up to us. The Vampires and Kansas are both pretty elderly, and Joe Perry's health hasn't been great so, who knows if they cancelled for caution.

Hope I am wrong but speaking for the Glasgow leg of the Deep Purple tour in October, I just don’t see our Scottish Government throwing the doors open and allowing anywhere near full capacity’s at gigs, football etc any time this year. I am vaccinated but would still feel uncomfortable with the thought of mixing in gig close proximity at the moment. In saying that it was interesting to read that a 5,000 gig went ahead in Barcelona at the weekend because everyone was tested on the day of the event. How practical that would be for every gig is open to question. The U.K. has been magnificent in its vaccination roll out (the only thing it has been magnificent for during this pandemic) but the big test is coming up over the next few weeks as the lockdown is being eased, starting in England today and Scotland next week, with still a lot of middle aged and lower age groups unvaccinated. The next 1/2 months will let us know whether we are beginning to get out of this hell or not!!

I'm vaccinated too but no one truthfully is "good to go" unless we reach herd immunity.People who are vaccinated can still catch the virus and spread it.I've heard anywhere from 70 to 90% needed to reach herd immunity.

Hoping things dont cancel. Brighter days are not far off ! Keeping it non-political and directly related Fed facts only....
Fed CDC Director said Thursday...Mortality from COVID19 “went from 16 per 100,000 in the January spike to 1 in 100,000 on March 22nd.” She attributed this dramatic improvement to the vaccine. “We are really seeing positive results from the vaccine”. Like Buck, Im good with those odds. Its personal, some arent good to go for many valid reasons. Aside, On Friday there were 20 states with 0 COVID/ related nursing home deaths...a dream a short time ago. It is happening. The progress sure feels good,
This went widely unreported, likely due the Feds fear masks will come off over nite. Instead they shifted to reporting and focus on “ new cases” and “new strains”.
Bottom line, the virus is real, but getting better in terms of causing deaths very quickly....regardless of whatever else we hear for facts. Have faith !

Gassed to see a BOC performance in Florida yesterday ! How did if feel Buck ? It felt great to play again. No TSR songs yet, we need a proper rehearsal to nail those. But the gig rawked.

No, I have to work up calluses and finger strength and tone the voice after a layoff. Remember the tunes also.
