Believe it or not, Blue Oyster Cult singer Eric Bloom doesn't want the band's classic "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" played at his funeral. Now, we know what you're thinking — But, Loudwire, Eric Bloom doesn't even sing '(Don't Fear) The Reaper,' that'd be Blue Oyster Cult guitarist and co-vocalist Buck Dharma, also the song's writer — and you'd be right. But Bloom himself recently acknowledged that listeners might expect him to choose the signature 1976 BOC hit as his burial song whenever he goes to meet the great Agent of Fortune in the sky. r Read More: Blue Oyster Cult Singer Doesn't Want 'The Reaper' at His Funeral | loudwire.com/eric-bloom-dont-fear-the-reaper-funeral/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referral

It makes me sad to hear how he was sort of sidelined during Mirrors, so I can see why he thinks of that as his personal worse record. For me, though, he KILLS it on The Great Sun Jester and I Am The Storm, and that album is my #4 top BOC record, behind only Secret Treaties, Agents of Fortune, and Fire of Unknown Origin. I get it from his perspective, but it's a solid record for me.

For me, though, he KILLS it on The Great Sun Jester and I Am The Storm It's like they say - leave 'em wanting more... but, that said, for me, Mirrors was definitely a step downwards... for the first few weeks after it's release, I tried to convince myself that it was MY fault that I couldn't really get into it, but it gradually dawned on me that THIS wasn't my cup of tea at all... after that realisation, my disappointment was easier to deal with... but the question remains - if EB thinks Mirrors is BOC's worst recording, how does he regard Club Ninja...?

I mean, White Flags and Shadow Warrior warrior are pretty dope, even if Beat 'Em Up and Make Rock Not War are certainly.... songs. And I should say to, my cup of tea musically speaking is almost anything I'm coming to find. The older I get the more I find my tastes diversifying. I think that's one of the reasons why I gravitate more towards bands like BOC or Fleetwood Mac. Over time they've dabbled in so many different "sounds" that you can never accuse them of going back to the well too many times. I loved Mirrors in some ways, aside from the fact that I think the songs were great, because it was more diversity to the sound. Whereas with AC/DC, as much as I love a bunch of their stuff, after a while what's the point of another album of the same kind of music?

I dig Mirrors and always liked all of the songs and while CN isn't as consistently great as other records it's got great songs Madness,PW,sorry but I really like White Flags,Ruins and a few other good songs.Truthfully Ooga-Chucka I could do without(it's along with Tattoo Umpire my least fav BOC tune).Rock Not War-the Brit version with the extra outro guitar is a bit more enjoyable-I never not liked it- even if it is way too much like the pop pablum Starship was doing at the time.

I never had a problem getting into Mirrors. I like Eric's lead vocals on it too. I can understand why he didn't get his share of the leads being this was a commercial breakthrough attempt and Buck had the more "friendly" voice. Of course, the best BOC always has just the right amount of Ying and Yang.

I love most of CN. White Flags, Dancing in the Ruins, Perfect Water, Spy in the House of the Night, Shadow Warrior, Madness to the Method, all quality. When the War Comes is a'ight. But I always skip the Bob Halligan ones. I'd love to hear the extra outro version though. With different lyrics I'd be okay with the songs because musically they're fine.

I adore Mirrors. Buck & EB each have 3 very strong tunes. Moon Crazy might have been my Favorite back then! I remember when I saw BOC in Anchorage, we were blaring Mirrors in The Parking Lot. The song, Mirrors, was actually playing as the Band Arrived in their Limo.

I like every tune on Mirrors.I'd love to see them do,in my BOC fantasy show, Alberts Cars tune with Albert going thru his explanation on why he wrote it and how he presented it to the band."yeah yeah yeah we like it Al" "BUt IT'S THE CARS!!!".Then Kasim could do Drive.Wouldn't mind if Rick O'Carsick showed up too.

The fact that it's the Cars is part of why I love it. My dream classic rock supergroup would have Buck and Elliot Easton as the twin lead guitarists.

The Cars and Squeeze-that was GREAT pop rock. Argybargy is a hell of an album. Few bands come close to such perfection.
