It's been noted in the past that Reaper has a jazzy/latin element so maybe it does make sense.

Between the cowbell, the vibraslap, the guiro, and the clavinet in some live versions, it is hella Latin. Not to mention the the mode used for the solo being a modified phrygian mode often used in Spanish music. I'm kind of surprised it isn't used in connection with the Mexican Day of the Dead.
