Most of us know David Lucas as the jingle-meister guy who once gave SFG some studio time to record the demo(s) that served to put them in front of Clive Davis, and you could argue, without that beneficence, we wouldn't have BOC as we know and love it today... sliding doors moment, and all that... and that's on top of his later involvement with AOF and Spectres... well, did you know that he also had a few other strings to his bow? - here's a video (shot by DA Pennebacker, no less) of his involvement as part of a vocal quartet auditioning for RCA with Dave Lambert - who, to me, looks a bit like the current David Lucas - under the name "Lambert & Co." - the younger David is the one who asks the cameraman, "Hi, how are you doing?" as they switch positions before the singing starts... Also - check out his bio: davidlucasmusic.com/bio.htmland prepare to be impressed by the roll call of names he's worked with... Yikes! "Discovered by Doris Day"!! It was a fortuitous meeting at Camp Swan Lake, that's for sure....

Interesting bio.We all know Casey Kasem but Tom Shannon was a big DJ in Buffalo for years-I have some of his airchecks.Lucas got breakouts for many big artists. Many it seems for RCA.He seems to have followed closely in the footsteps of the great Tom Dowd of Atlantic.Damn he's got history. He was consorting with the top guys-in truly rarified air .BOC should be proud that Lucas thought so highly of them

Lucas certainly has had an interesting career/life. It kind of makes you feel inadequate is some way.
