It's only part of the full podcast, but I think this is the first time I've ever heard the argument actually spoken in any video, podcast, or the like.

I've always been a little torn when BOC is labeled as a Heavy Metal band. I never really thought of them that way.

Agree on the heavy metal label. Sure, there are some songs that are heavy, but as a full catalog a lot are not. Heavy metal to me is loud overly distorted guitars, screaming vocals, and over the top percussion and prominent guitar bass. I think what was considered "heavy" in the early 70's was relatively tame compared to bands emerging later. These are just my opinions - I have no musical training to classify a "rock band" into which of the hundred sub-genres one would fit it. I think BOC fits into a number of different ones depending on the song.
