I only put this out here because it's new. Full title wouldn't fit on subject line: "The Story Behind How Rock Critic Richard Meltzer Helped Write Blue Öyster Cult’s 1981 Hit “Burnin’ for You” "
I've seen a lot of the stuff in there before in various articles, but maybe a few of you haven't.
One thing I'd never stumbled on is a video in there "Blue Oyster Cult "Burnin' For You" Live TV Appearance 1981" Looks like the show's host was Charles Grodin (I'm not familiar with him and I don't know what show it was on)
A couple of the links embedded in the article are of some interest.
Eric's comments about burning up the car in the tunnel from the famous ant movie "Them!" was kinda cool. That movie was a cool classic too IMHO.

Charles Grodin was awesome. Probably best known for the movie Midnight Run and the dog movies. His late night shows were great as well. Saw BOC on there and Zappa. If you like deadpan comedy he was great.

That performance is from The Tomorrow Show, hosted by Tom Snyder. Grodin was the fill in host. There’s also an interview with Buck and EB and a great Joan Crawford performance.
