Metallica has never been my thing, a little heavy for me. But their Astronomy cover was pretty darn good! They added their metal in appropriate places while preserving the overall original BOC vibe in a large part. And it's had 1.2M YouTube views in 1 year.
My musically challenged opinion anyway.....

Metallica should've covered Lips. "I AM GRIPPED BY WHAT I CANNOT TELL! YEAH!!!"

35+ years ago I had a conversation with EB and he said Metallica was his favorite up and coming band. I hadn't heard of them at the time and truthfully, I've never been a big fan. But I did read Lars once saying OYFOOYK was his go to live album. Think I might have to give Astronomy another listen.

Metallica's Astronomy cover was always a bit puzzling to me. I wondered if they were trying to get it to come-in under a certain time allotment without the end solo. Seems like the epic live solo section is the best part, so why wouldn't a player like Kirk Hammett want to take a stab at it. IDK.

Metallica should've covered Lips. "I AM GRIPPED BY WHAT I CANNOT TELL! YEAH!!!" Ha, that made me laugh, imagining James Hetfield growling that lyric.
