You never know where BOC's name is going to show up. Just search for Blue Oyster Cult in the article:

Thanks for this post. I graduated from Kent State University about eight years ago, and we studied this case extensively. Consequently, I always am interested in any news updates, articles on it, etc.

Thanks for this post. I graduated from Kent State University about eight years ago, and we studied this case extensively. Consequently, I always am interested in any news updates, articles on it, etc. I really didn't remember much about the case except that it was frequently mentioned on TV news. After reading the Wikipedia article en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Memphis_Three I can see why this case was complicated enough to warrant university-level study. I can now see why the BOC record was mentioned - probably just because the word "Cult" in the band's name.

Most likely! I know that them dressing in goth clothing was also brought up. As usual, there was so many theories on what made them such bad boys. If I had been the mother of the deceased, I would have been convinced that they were the delinquents that had done the deed. However, if I were the mother of the three accused, you can bet I would have been more proactive in seeking out information to exonerate my son. (One of the stepfathers was eventually a suspect). The whole case was seriously a messed up situation. I still have very mixed feelings about it. Although none are in prison, Echols is requesting DNA evidence to be processed for exoneration. Apparently the Arkansas Supreme Court has given the go ahead for the testing.
