I just arrived a few minutes ago. I love small intimate events like this. ^_^ Before I entered the room, there was a table with copies of Lita's bew book. I just got mine, and it'll be signed later after the discussion. ^_^ I'm also sitting next to Bloody Mary's drummer, Kat, whose band once opened up for Lita Ford at the Arcada back in 2014 and played at my 18th birthday party later that year. I can't upload any photos right now, but I will either when I get home or tomorrow evening.

Here's some photos from the event. The book discussion was very intriguing. There were times where I laughed at funny stories she talked about and then there were others where I was shocked about things that happened in Lita's life, and just felt sorry for her. Lita was a total class act with her fans, who was nice enough to do photos and chat with each and every one of them for a bit. I took a photo of Kat chatting with her, and after that took a selfie. (I'll share it if she shows it to me.) Then when it was my turn to meet Lita, I told her that tonight took me back to when I first met Ozzy during his book tour, and that I look forward to hearing her on Ace Frehley's new cover album that's coming out on April 15th. I'll share my thoughts on her book eventually. I'll also post photos of my copy and the autograph tomorrow evening.

Here's my friend with Lita Ford! I believe Kat said that this marks the third time that she has met her. ^_^

Very cool! I'll likely read her book eventually. But I have a HUGE pile of books to read already (including a crop of rock musician memoirs). Currently reading John Lydon's "Anger is an Energy."

I think I've forgotten how to read, unfortunately... all the books I get these days are talking books... That said, I actually read Cherie's book, so it might be interesting to cross-reference that one with Lita's to try and find out the true story of those early days... when I was younger, the concept of the Runaways seemed a most excellent one, and I enjoyed their live shows and always thought Lita (clearly the best musician in the band) didn't really fit in with the rest of them, style-wise... BTW: many moons ago, one of my claims to fame was that I once helped Lita to fold her underwear... that will probably sound a little less weird when I add the context that we were in a launderette at the time...

I personally love reading musician autobiographies from the text being read like they were having a discussion. Makes them overall feel uniquely authentic.
I'll pick up Cherie's book someday, but for now, I'll be reading Lita's. And I agree, it is interesting to hear from different perspectives. ^_^

Lita's book was a TOTAL GO-TO for me 'cause I wanted to see what she would say about Nikki Sixx. I was lucky enough to be a young, impressionable teen in California in the early 80's. My buddies were all in bands. I went to high school with a fellow who was just starting out as a producer in those days, and is a big name today. He had a warehouse loft where I met Sixx for the first time when Motley was still playing Hollywood clubs ...it was just a bunch of us hanging out after a show, listening to records. Sixx was personable and sweet, and we talked about our favorite music. I suppose some would say he became a pretty sleazy dude (due to drug use) not long after, but I've only seen the supremely cool (and really respectful) side of him. I'm happy that Lita has nice things to say about him.
duckbarman, LOVE your underwear story. Yep, that's Lita!
