Alright, well, here's another month into the entry. I'll edit this later to include some images.
THE HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES (JULY 7TH, 2016, AURORA RIVEREDGE PARK)
I've really wanted to see the Hollywood Vampires for quite a while. When I first heard that they were playing at some festival, I got really excited. However, the date was soon quickly removed. Despite the cancelled date, they still came to play in Illinois, anyways, this time at an outdoor venue that surprisingly a lot closer than the Arcada Theatre. I really liked the venue, and I'd love to go there again for future concerts.
It was cool to see them play, especially since this is the very first time I had ever seen Johnny Depp and Joe Perry live! I also loved Alice in this setting, because when he's not performing solo, he's casually conversing with the crowd, and I love that. It was also great to see them pay tribute to Lemmy. I also loved when they songs like 'My Dead Drunk Friends' and their cover of 'Come Together'. ^_^
PETER GABRIEL & STING (JULY 9TH, 2016, UNITED CENTER)
Yes, I attended one of their shows during their Rock Paper Scissors tour! This is the very first time I had seen Sting live, but not the first time I've seen Peter! ^_^ First time I had ever saw Peter Gabriel was for the warmup tour when he was promoting his 'New Blood' album.
I somewhat first heard of Peter Gabriel when I was very little and had listened to a few of his songs from his 'Up' album. My favorite tracks were 'Growing Up', 'Sky Blue', and 'More Than This'.
Anyways, back to the concert night, this was the third United Center concert I had gone to this year, and when me and my dad had arrived at our seats, we were a bit disappointed by the location, since we were sitting on the side of stage left. However, we weren't really missing out much visually on the screens the whole night.
Pretty much everytime I've seen Peter Gabriel, he always gives his best, and it really showed that night. Sting was incredible too, and it was cool to see them take turns and even sing with each other on their songs.
The audience is just one of the best well-behaved we've ever been in. Very respectful and polite. When Peter Gabriel would be talking and somebody was being loud, that guy in the audience would be hushed out of respect for Peter.
This show was definitely among my top favorite concerts from this year. Despite the seating location, the audience was great, and Peter and Sting gave their all.
