I'm so excited to travel out of state again this year! This is gonna be my very first time in California. Saturday, I'm flying over there, checking in, do a little exploring of San Francisco, and then attend the Bridge School Benefit Concert. I'm particularly excited to see Roger Waters again, and I'm also especially excited to see Metallica and Neil Young for the first time. ^_^ www.bridgeschool.org/concert/Then on Sunday, I'm gonna go attend a six-hour Alcatraz tour. I've heard a lot of great things about the tour, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Then on Sunday, I'm gonna go attend a six-hour Alcatraz tour. Six hours? Blimey! I'm think that's pushing it a bit - I'd do one hour trip out to look at the place and then spend the other 5 hours on the Wharf and Ghiradelli Square etc...

Nothing against Alcatraz (some of my best friends etc.), but you could also visit the world-class San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and, on the way from Fisherman's Wharf, visit Ferlinghetti, Jack Kerouac's ghost, and other Beat Generation hipsters at City Lights bookstore....

Palace of Fine Arts, China Town... I wouldn't spend six hours on a Alcatraz tour unless it also includes a trip around the bay (Golden Gate, Ft. Mason, Angel Island, etc, but have fun. I heard the Kabuki Hotel is a nice place to stay...

XD I worded my post a bit wrong, so here's the actual schedule I got for that tour.
9:30: Left to Alcatraz via boat. - 15-20 min ride - Short introduction + Going over the rules - Walked around outside for about 10-15 minutes before heading inside. - Did a 40-60 min tour inside the prison with audio headset included. - Got a few things from the gift shop. - Did from more exploring outside of the prison.
12:15 AM: Leave Alcateaz to Angel Island - Arrived at the state park at about 12:40 PM. - Another brief introduction + rules. - 50-minute tour tram ride of the island with some stops. - Had lunch at the Cove Cafe.
2:40: Left Angel Island to get back to the pier.
So, was actually a tour of Alcatraz and Angel Island. And I too have to agree, if it were just Alcatraz for 6 hours, it would've been too time-consuming. XD
If I do go back to California, I'll gladly take these places you guys suggested into consideration, they sound interesting! ^_^
