Hello Buck, Im here on the forum for the first time. I first saw BOC in Dec of 1977 at the Cow Palace in Daly City, Ca. It was my 2nd concert ever and Black Oak Arkansas opened for you , I was 15 years old at that time. I was a huge fan then, and I have been ever since. Your guitar playing has always been a favorite of mine to say the least. Your tasty licks combined with such beautiful mysterious style really puts you far and above most rock guitarist and I have to say your soothing vocals are very pleasing as well. I had to say those things, a I have never had the chance to tell you in person, although in 1999 you played a summer show at hollister ca bike rally, which had on your bill steppenwolf, foghat, pat travers, and me and my buddies were selected out of the blue to help set up the stage and amps for the show. you were back stage walking around picking a small little acoustic of some sort. I was a little star struck and said hello to you and probably said , hey Buck, your the best hahah. do you get that much....... Anyway, I Love the tune I love the Night, great song ! what pedal or setting would you recommend to find the right tone to solo to that one ? Thanks Greg

Welcome to the site Orrman, love your financial self-help books/guides/kits, very informative; keep up the good work! I have no Idea what that means ? haha I think he is referring to Suze Orman who provides self-help financial advice. I used to watch her show on MSNBC when I had cable. People would call in describing their financial situation and she would give them advice. I thought she gave good practical advice. Such as if you have student loans, don't default on them because they cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. And if you have some extra disposable income, put it into a Roth IRA. That kind of thing.

I love the Suze Orman show. They do a segment called "Can I afford it?". One time Buck called it about a new guitar and she told him OK - but only if you keep touring forever. Keep buying guitars Buck!

Welcome Greg, and thanks for the kind words, and for being a fan. I wrote a post for this thread hours ago I expected to see here now, but for whatever reason, the post didn't post.
I probably recorded the lead to "I Love The Night" with a MESA Boogie Mk II head and one of our 4x12's and my Les Paul Deluxe or possibly the Balestra Vulcan, although I'm fuzzy on the exact chronology of acquiring that guitar and the recording of Spectres.
I remember that Hollister gig, though. Hard to believe it's over 17 years since then. Time flies when you're drawing breath!

Thanks Buck I hope to make your upcoming gig in Beverly hills, if not, I will definitely see you in Big Bear in sept, as I will be living there then.
Yes time fly's, good name for a tune?
One thing that is truely AMAZING about BOC , unlike most all other bands, you guys GO EVERYWHERE !! and for so many many years , not too many other bands have traveled more, and thats hard on any human being, so thank you guys for giving it all you got !!!

Hello guys. Many of us dream of constant visiting performances of out favorite bands. But this is quite expensive. This fact is upsetting me. Of course, there is always an exit out. Really? Spam on Christmas Day? Take a day off, mate... Actually, I'd quite fancy some spam for Chrimbo dinner... #flouting_tradition_24_7
