Hello Buck, just discovered your forum and joined. It's awesome that you have this and quite a nice little community you have going here! Anyway, I have to start with a bit of fan boy gushing . BOC has been my favorite band (and you my favorite guitarist) since the ripe age of 10 when I lifted every album from the Self Titled through Fire of Unknown Origin out of my mom's LP collection. The band's album's, and your playing are just flat out (see what I did there? haha) amazing. There's something great on each one, and the evolution and how you incorporated different styles into the sound over the years is unparalleled in my opinion. I do have one question though, is it really true that you barely played on Imaginos? Anyway though, as much as I love you and the rest of the guys, I unfortunately had never had the chance to see you live until a few weeks ago. Fortunately my brother and I were given tickets to the Millville show for my birthday. What a killer show it was too! Easily the best I've ever been too (my brother said the same). Watching you work your magic even knocked Van Halen down a notch for me! The set list you're currently playing is awesome as well, I love how it's career spanning and flows effortlessly. I also got a kick out of how subdued the audience was, I swear I was the only one clapping at first during your solo. My brother and I also brought along my BOC banner and we were just curious if you guys had seen it from the stage or not: Anyway, hope you did and that the band had as good of a time at the show as we did! Look forward to being on the forum. -Greg

I also got a kick out of how subdued the audience was That's erm... that's not a good thing... let's just say - instead - that the audience perhaps was silently appreciative - struck dumb by the superb musicianship on show that evening, they decided that hushed reverence was the most appropriate response, like worshippers at a church service - where I know from painful personal experience they do not appreciate whooping and clapping, and shouting out for your favourite commandment and waving your "Jesus Christ" scarf down the front... (there's a lot to be said for Gospel meetings, if the one in the "Blues Brothers" is anything to go by...) Regarding who played what on Imaginos, that's a long-standing conundrum - we've all seen the list of musicians involved, but, apparently, nobody seems to be sure of which versions and which takes made it through to the final release... it's all very confusing... it makes it all the sadder that BOC never got round to committing the original triple-album concept to vinyl in the 70s when it was first proposed... now THAT would have been something to experience...

Perhaps I didn't articulate what I meant properly. I don't mean I wanted people jumping around like idiots (which I personally can't stand and it is a small theater to boot) or that they weren't captivated by the show. It's just being as into them as I am and given the age difference between myself and the majority of the audience, I expected more people to know to clap to give a beat to the solo, without Jules having to come out and hit the bass drum, or that your supposed to call back "and roll" after Eric says "Rock". That's all I was referring to, just a little limited as to what I can type from an iphone! Oh by the way, we only held up the scarf at the end, didn't want to block anyone's view! Thanks for the answer on Imaginos, never realized no one knows what takes were used! The thing I'm most curious about (again was limited by space) is I ran into Marc Biederman of Blind Illusion before and he is absolutely ADAMANT that he plays the majority of that album and Buck only plays on one or two songs. But so much of that record sounds like Buck, I was wondering how much truth (if any) there is to Marc's statement. Ah yes, it would be amazing to hear it in it's original planned form, and without that "wet" drum sound that seemed to be so popular in the 80's. Thanks for the welcome everyone, I look forward to conversing with everyone!
