Something a little different. Somewhat the same theme as LDOM even though it's totally different. I wonder what a BÖC cover would sound like??
Music video by Glenn Frey performing "Smuggler's Blues", which was used in Miami Vice. There was an episode (S1.E15) with the same name which was inspired by Frey's song, but I couldn't find an actual clip of it showing the song being used. Frey was a guest star in that episode.
The song itself starts about 1 minute in. I think Frey did a great job with this video.

Never any BOC that I recall but definitely some other good stuff. Wish they'd make TV like that again....

So we watched it again some years later. One of the very few good things about getting older is that now we're about ready to watch it again - and we won't remember a LOT of the episodes, so will be somewhat like seeing it the first time! They featured a LOT of good music in that series. A lot of the songs were timed perfectly and somewhat followed the story about what was happening even though the song wasn't written for the show. The music was always a treat! The list of guest stars was a who's-who of actors, actresses, and musicians from that era. Besides Frey, musician-wise there was Sheena Easton, Frank Zappa, Phil Collins, Willie Nelson, Barbara Streisand, Miles Davis, Ted Nugent - that's just the names I recognized. But, no I don't remember any BÖC. No, they don't make TV like that any more, at least not in the States. We haven't watched a "new" network TV show in years. We do watch re-runs of ones from maybe 2005 and before, and some are pretty good.

Dude, we sound almost the same....watched it then, got the DVDs and yeah the memory isnt all that great so can enjoy again...LOL. Used to love "Crime Story" along that same time...full of great older tunes from the 60's....

I've got on Invisible Sun by the Police. Ghost in the machine. Learning it on guitar. Just a few chords in the song actually, but challenging nonetheless. "I don't want to spend the rest of my life looking at the barrel of an Armalite"

I finally gave up on Message in a Bottle. My ears and hands would just synch up! Lots of George Harrisons stuff as well.

My listening room these days gravitates toward music I want to play at a local acoustic open mic....two weeks ago it was Willin' by Little Feat, and Nobody Home by Pink Floyd. I'm looking to break out some Jethro Tull: Thick As a Brick/ Aqualung medley, and Mother Goose....solo acoustic....which is limited, and limitless at the same time.

You're obviously pretty proficient, Mike, well done. I've got to look into hand exercises to ameliorate my left hand Parkinson's challenges. I don't want to give it up, even if I suck more than usual. Oy.

Chris Rea - Texas One of my go to tunes when I need a slide guitar fix. He never really got big here like the UK which is a shame.

Jethro Tull made me discover the use of the capo....something I never used that much, but TAAB, and Aqualung as both capoed in the third fret, and makes for a nice transition. The other songs I might break out tonight are Landslide, and Mother....much has to do with how I feel at the present moment.

Three guitars here and neither of us can play. My wife used to some when she was a kid/teen and got a used 1960-something Gibson acoustic as a birthday present. Mostly some of the simpler campfire type stuff from what she's told me. The Gibson needs some work. The second is a Yamaha FG mid-70's. It's in good shape from what I can tell. It tuned up easily. Yes, even I can tune using a cell phone app or a frequency counter. Just needs a new strap. I think she could get back to where she was with some motivation and work. The third is probably junk. It showed up under the Christmas tree this year. It's a LOW dollar kid's beginner guitar from what I can tell. She bought if for somebody else years ago but ended up keeping it. Maybe meant for me? I'm a lost cause. I have no ear for recognizing notes or chords. My finger coordination is questionable at best. Maybe if I would have started in elementary school I'd be up to the beginning of Smoke on the Water by now....

I had to watch someone play it and then i got it. Man I wish YouTube was around when I was kid.

I was fortunate to have a great guitar teacher in high school.Mr.O. I stuck with it and enjoy it immensely. The song to figure out the next few days is George Thoroghgoods "Who do you love?". By Mr. Bo Diddley, heard it on my way to work last week and it is still stuck in my head.
