Not implying the boys were trying to sound like The Who here....just that those two tracks kind of remind me of the Who....what say you fellow Cultists? Buck and Townshend....two different styles. I've seen The Who, and Townshend solo....he has laid some of the most incendiary licks these ears have ever heard. When Cultösaurus Erectus came out, I recall a Boston music writer saying he heard a resemblance to The Who regarding those songs.

I learn something new every day. If you said that this was Daltry doing a cover version of a BOC tune - well, that would have been believable. In my BOC fantasy show-Joe and Roger take turns on different verses then do the final one together.Joe said that every time he tried those vocals he blew his voice out. When Joe does it live it's a different tempo. I played Fallen Angel for my wife when this thread started to see if she noticed the "Daltrey sound". She did, but not by name. She knew The Who but didn't really know Roger by name, so I played some examples that highlighted him. Well, that unleashed a new quest for knowledge. Over the years she's picked one artist at a time and researched them to some degree, just for fun. This goes back to the Beatles days. Anyway, seems Roger Daltrey is her new "project" for now. She was at a discount used bookstore and picked up his 2018 autobiography and has read most of it - and of course repeated some of it to me. Of course YouTube hosts a wealth of knowledge for fun little quests like this. I've joined in on this one and have learned a lot. A LOT of things I never knew about him or the band. Roger seems like quite the character. He has quite the farm in England - over 300 acres is what I recall. And a trout farm that he built on it. He seems to have two distinct sides: his performer side and his more laid back home-in-the-country side. Never would have guessed that. So now she wants us to go to a Who concert, but only if Roger is performing. I'm down for that. We may be a day late and a dollar short on that happening from what I've read. 2022 might have been the last full U.S. tour and they were only about 6 hrs away. Oh well. Right now I'm just waiting for my next chance at a BÖC concert in reasonable driving distance.

God I love this version of Buck's Boogie from "Cult Classics"! It was the live version from OYFOOYK + LDOM from the same that hooked me on Buck's guitar style but something about this version really cooks!

Wow! Never heard of these guys but it seem's they were a popular Atlanta area college band back in the day. Reformed and did an album recently. Apparently with some connection to Buck as he makes a credited cameo with a very nice rocking lead on this song. The "Several Dudes" (name of the band) refer to him as an "honorary Dude" in their thank you for his contribution. You just never know where Buck's gonna show up.... SO COOL!

I'm going to tell you about a fantastic find for people who need assistance with financial tasks. My encounter with www.thesishelpers.com/finance has been fantastic. My buddies and I placed orders for papers there on various subjects, and the outcomes were consistently outstanding. It's critical that the authors have legitimate expertise and are not merely rewriters. Despite the fact that the subjects themselves were very difficult, they managed to do everything on time and to the best standard. The pricing are fair, and they will refund your money if there is a problem. Furthermore, it is really handy because you may order a paper even at night. I would advise everyone!

This album and All Summer Long are criminally underrated by pop culturists. They're both great records.

Now a Joe & Roger show would be a real treat! But we know what the chances of that are.......
Roger is keeping his voice alive, but I think he has to be careful with it. We watched some of the shows (not in person obviously) that finished up just months ago and he could still do "the scream", better at some shows than others, but to be expected I guess. We actually call it "the howl". Out of everything they play and that he sings, watching the audience the scream seems to be what really gets them fired up more than anything. Who would have thought.

I've been listening to a lot of female singers lately. Beth Hart, Grace Potter, Lucinda Williams, Sass Jordan. How these women are not more widely known befuddles me. All of them are superb in their genre.
