According to Sam Judd, Allen once told him he had an (uncredited) hand in the composition of this one... One of Patti's most listenable songs for sure...

The great Cultosaurus Erectus! I love this album much and listen to it often. I have made certain observations about two tracks and wonder if anyone else has the same opinion.
First is about "Hungry Boys"...the rhythm and a one lick in the chorus reminds me a lot of classic Pete Townsend/Who material. Buck's lead however is far superior to any PT lick I ever heard and really takes this quite good song into the great category.
Second is Fallen Angel (literal next track). Again this could have been a Who song...especially Eric's vocals do a great job of emulating Roger Daltrey on this one.
Not implying the boys were trying to sound like The Who here....just that those two tracks kind of remind me of the Who....what say you fellow Cultists?

I don't get the feel that much from Hungry Boys, however I'm not familiar enough with a lot of Who material to really know. Fallen Angel: That DEFINITELY could be Daltry singing! but we won't get fooled again. (at one time I had that song memorized. don't ask)

It is Joe.Joe always said he was going for Bon Scott but the song is so totally The Who that Daltrys voice was a perfect fit even if Joe wasn't going for it.

Wow...didn't realize Joe could wail like that...so uncharacteristic I always assumed it was EB....well thanks for the correction! I'll be listening to Joe's vocals in a new light now!

If you said that this was Daltry doing a cover version of a BOC tune - well, that would have been believable.

In my BOC fantasy show-Joe and Roger take turns on different verses then do the final one together.Joe said that every time he tried those vocals he blew his voice out. When Joe does it live it's a different tempo.

He might have had trouble then with the "Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" in Don't Fooled Again. Just watched a live version of that a couple nights ago. From the Live 8 concert I think.

I haven't put anything "different" here in awhile, so here's one that popped into my head the other day. Released in 1994 or 1995, this song from the Southern outlaw country/rock band "The Bottle Rockets" reached #27 on the Billboard rock chart and was played on the radio frequently here where I live. The Bottle Rockets retired from touring in 2021.
