Buck - I'm looking for some info about the following report that appeared in the October 25, 1970 edition of "The Sydney Morning Herald":

"Stalk is Big Time"

A new group has hit the American rock scene - Stalk Forrest. It is said to sound like a cross between The Doors and The Jefferson Airplane, two of the most successful groups this country has ever produced. Part of the group used to be known as the Soft White Underbelly, but when some of the members changed, so did the name.
The group, which has been rehearsing in secret for several months, made its much hailed New York debut at the main concert hall of New York University this week. But it had hardly got underway when 75 policemen swarmed into the room and got everybody out. It seems that they had received a bomb threat.
Members of Stalk Forrest believe there was no real bomb threat but that the whole thing was a plot to wreck the debut which was being attended by representatives of many record companies.
Talk of six-figure contracts has been bandied around for some time, and ever since money has become tight on the American scene, music rivalries have run high - and very bitter.
One interesting thing about the group was that one of their managers, Sandy Pearlman, did market research and found sub-teen fans react better and feel more protective towards small musicians. So they hired a 5ft lead guitarist. He happens to be a good musician as well.

I'd never heard about this possible New York University "debut" gig before - it said it was "this week", so that'd mean it took place between 19-23 October 1970.
But what I'd like to know is: did it actually take place? The article says the band "made its much hailed New York debut" - that implies SFG actually played before the bomb threat thing happened.
And if the gig was WAS cancelled, was it rescheduled for a later date?
At the moment, I'm struggling to work out if I should list this as an actual - albeit interrupted - gig or a cancelled one...? And if it WAS a hoax, who did the band suspect was the culprit?
Just wondering what your memories are - if any - of this event... ?
