I love this one. The whole album it's on is quite good.

I don't know. I get the need to bring something new to any cover song. This certainly qualifies for that. It's completely removed from it's original genre here. I think the best cover songs are creative within certain limitations.

I get the need to bring something new to any cover song. This is what I think also - otherwise, what's the point? I've never been much of a fan of the Beautiful South, but they put a bit of their own spin on their version of Reaper, so that's OK, but I like it best when someone takes a song and really runs with it... eg:

I like that Beautiful South version. Kinda preserves the song vibe, although it's missing the swirling energy of the BOC version, which propels the lyric and the song while you're realizing what it's saying. This is like a lounge version.

Their own, and a brilliant arrangement. I hadn't heard it, I hope Sandy Pearlman did before he passed. I'm sure he would have been gratified, in a paternal sense for this version.

Please, Astronomy must come back in the setlist. If Eric don't want to sing it or can't, you can or Richie can ! it's one of the best BÖC tracks hands down, been covered by Hetfield's gang, it needs to be played in 2019 !

Is Big Country’s version of Reaper still your favourite version, Buck?
