Hi Buck - are you going to use twitter?

Not planning on it. Twitter is both impulsive and forever. It's like a mob too. Not my style, unless I was going to approach it in a calculated and non-spontaneous way. Which would be boring. I guess I'm an old fuddy-duddy.

I have a Geographical Information Systems based Twitter feed. For the most part, my feed is really boring but there are some brilliant GIS pros that provide a lot of the latest, greatest in the GIS and LiDAR World (no pun intended) on it. It's a learning channel some days for me. Not many, though.

Twitter. Its more unnecessary " noise" that the world needs less of.
Cant blame you a bit Buck.

I tried using Twitter but I didn't "get" it... It seems too frenetic and rather pointless (and that's coming from someone in their 20s, but maybe I'm aging prematurely).

Twitter's great - I can let people know all the really important stuff that's going on in my life - in real time... for example, I'm currently having a nice cup of Earl Grey - although people who follow me on Twitter already know that... and in a couple of minutes, I'll post a status update that I've finished it and am now having a biscuit...
Of course, for people whose lives aren't as fascinating as my own, a third party observer MIGHT be moved to remark that Twitter serves as nothing more than a pointless platform to showcase the deluded self important ramblings of a whole generation of vainglorious self-publicists who are under the misguided impression that the world is endlessly fascinated by their every waking mundane thought and inane pronouncement...
Fortunately, that doesn't apply to me as I'm REALLY interesting... damn, just dropped my pen... I'd better let "my people" know...

That makes sense Buck, I don't use the medium but if you were posting your musings and opinions I'd be on there in a shot as I'm sure other non twitter users would; and for the record, you are not an old fuddy-duddy!!

Twitter has value, just not for everyone. It's a great news source for sports and trending World topics that hit the Twitter feed before TV, radio and other media outlets.
