Do many of you think the current BOC performance jam-arama LDofM damages the song? I guess it must compared to the studio or OYF version. Who is pining for the original doom-rock version? Not me. But then, I am biased in favor of the present, over the past, with just about anything. #AreYouInThePocketOfTheMoment?

I don't think it does at all. The jam-arama is fun, and the guys get to stretch out and innovate on stage. That said, a fun twist would be to move the jam-arama onto another song completely, and then encore with an original sounding LDOM that harkens back to OYFOOYK.

Interesting you say that Martso-I thought that they captured it really well as they IMO also caught knockout versions of B.B.,Reaper and Roadhouse. And who can forget "Something big coming this way now" and the next sound is that huge stomping.....................motorcycle.Had to be one of Jon's and Ron's earliest gigs. Sure, the video and audio were well done, I’m talking about compared to being there, which I was, every time they played Westport Playhouse. #IGuessYouJustHadToBeThere Oh I have no doubt that was "another" show to remember.

Do many of you think the current BOC performance jam-arama LDofM damages the song? "Damages" is probably too strong a word - but I'd say it certainly detracts from the poignancy of the song itself, and of course, it's all subjective, so all I can say is that I know which one I prefer...

"Do many of you think the current BOC performance jam-arama LDofM damages the song?" well, if you ask, yes, that's what I think, with the "damages is probably too strong a word correction".

Yep, those late 80’s, early 90’s shows were not short on quality, sure wish I could have caught more of them! I was still at a 2 or 3 show per year frequency, then. Once we got computers, that changed, as you remember.

I look forward to the Richie/Buck jamming version. I love how Richie kicks ass then the master takes over. Please don't change it!!!

I mean... there are so many songs that have fit the mold of an extended single guitar solo jam from Astronomy to Veterans to Subhuman that I feel like dropping a dual-guitar jam takes something away from the full show. Unless it were added to a different song anyway. Like, if Veterans was brought back but with the two guitar format and LDOM were more traditional, I'm sure there'd be fans who would appreciate that too.

Somebody posted an early live version of Wings Wetted Down that had an extended guitar jam. What if THAT became the dual-guitar set-piece? Everybody would lose their minds in the best way, plus Richie could do the vocals since it was originally a Joe song and he has been doing Joe's old vocals

Thinking of OYFOOYK, today…what I love most, about it, is the fact that there’s so many great mini-jam outro’s, Hot Rails, Before The Kiss, etc. reminds me of why BÖC is my favorite band, the live version of songs is nearly always preferable, to me, than the studio version, because of the added guitar work. Same with SEE, Astronomy, ETI, DFTR, RUR2R, especially those, way cooler than the studio. The whole band, the arrangements, but especially Buck. Still rings true, today. “It’s why they are needed, it’s why they are here.” So, the last thing I’d want would be a show with medleys, even if we got to hear songs they never play, but condensed. Give me fewer songs, with killer fills and outro riffing. Harvester without the boogie ala 1978, or ME262 without the 5 guitars Mark I, not a fan. It’s like Reaper on AM radio without the middle evilness, just no. While I’m at it, ya know what would be awesome? Moving the LDOM jam to…wait for it…Box In My Head.

Or, better yet, just add a jam to every live song, especially Box.

Buck I posted this not as diss on the current stage performance. But since you asked I will say I always wish that you did play it as recorded originally. For me that is how I always remember it. That said, Allen and you and now Richie really are powerful in the jam rendition. I love it either way. But again... for me the OEM will always be supreme.
