I listened to FOUR albums by Grateful Dead today searching for a song for Deep Track of the Day, and I couldn't find a single one I liked. They are an extremely popular band with an intensely devoted following, so I guess it is unpopular to say that I think I do not like them, even a little. LMAO Terrapin Station was a different Dead album. Estimated Prophet makes me smile.

I hated Physical Graffiti and Presence. For me Physical Graffiti is one of Zep's best up there with their first four albums. Presence isn't in the same league but is worth the price of admission for Achilles Last Stand & Nobody's Fault but Mine both of which are fabulous, the rest of the album is patchy though. Don't get me started on In Through the Out Door, possibly one of the most disappointing albums of all time.

There are zero AC/DC songs that I enjoy.

There are zero AC/DC songs that I enjoy. I only have two: Dirty Deeds and Highway to Hell. And I have to be in the mood for them.

LMAO For grins, here's John Fogerty's comments on the Dead performance during Woodstock. The comments themselves end about half way through. But I like the song at the end that supposedly came out of his experience.

The only artists I've banned from Deep Track of the Day are REO Speedwagon, Eric Clapton (solo), and Cocteau Twins. I'll give those albums a listen before adding the Dead to that list lmao.

I still don't know all the BOC tunes yet (sorry) - did one involve time travel with Buck taking a little vacation to the future??

I've always thought that "Ripple" was a good deep track from the Grateful Dead.

Well, I'm glad the Dead are, albeit indirectly, responsible for ONE great song LMAO Yes, "Who'll Stop the Rain" was one of my favorites of theirs. Actually I liked a lot of their stuff. Being the musically challenged geek that I am, I always thought it was about the troops being out in the rain in Vietnam. Was surprised when I heard the story in the video, but I still think there is a little government protest content thrown in. Coincidence that TODAY I just found the unopened remastered CCR CD my wife gave me for birthday or Christmas. Guess I better light it up.
