Judas Priest's British Steel, Point of Entry, and Screaming for Vengeance Funny, Point of Entry was the first JP album I really didn't like. Their earlier albums up to British Steel (not so much Rocka Roller) were all killer then Point of Entry by comparison sounded soft. The other two records you mention are excellent. My JP perfect three sequence would be Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin and Stained Class.

Heading Out to the Highway, Desert Plains, and Solar Angels are standout tracks for me. I'm not good at explaining why, I suppose, but it felt grand to me. I mean, honestly in their entire discography there are only three albums I don't listen to regularly (I do also love Rocka Rolla), and that's the Ripper Owens records and Nostdadamus. And you can't even blame Ripper Owens entirely for how bad those albums are, because even the music itself was just kind of lame. Blood Stained and Burn in Hell were okay.

Alice Cooper - Killer, School's Out. Billion Dollar Babies Just noticed - you'd take School's Out over Love it to Death...? Every time Ralph. Probably because School's Out was the first album I'd heard and like better. If I had to make it a perfect trio of albums and started with Love It To Death then I would have had to drop Billion Dollar Babies and that was never going to happen.

I feel so lucky that I grew up listening to these (and your) band. Albums today are not as significant as they were and concepts like a perfect trio of albums wouldn't resonate nowadays with most music lovers in their teens or 20s. That said, I really like the last three Taylor Swift records. Tony

Yes, some stuff does get lost when new tech is adopted and old records aren't ported over, but for the most part, we all get to experience the evolution of it up to our present moment, and it's amazing to experience.

I saw BOC in Kalamazoo, MI with UFO as the opener back in 1979 (approx). At the end of UFO’s set they came back out for an encore which was the song, Shoot shoot. To my surprise Buck was included in this encore. It was a great thrill to see 2 of my favorite guitarists, Buck Dharma and Michael Schenker on the same stage together. I have a, not very good, picture that I took of that event.

Bloyster, I’d love to see the pic if it’s convenient. I think that would’ve been pretty cool to see.

Do you recall if British Lions opened that show (10 Sep 1978) before UFO...? A guy told me it said they were listed as being on the bill in the Kalamazoo Gazette along with UFO, but I couldn't find a copy online to confirm - the "Battle Creek Enquirer" said it was just UFO, as did flyers for the show, and the tickets just said BOC, so I dunno...

I always liked the first three Dire Straits records. A combo of the first two (Dire Straits & Communique') which were just the 4-piece band and the third record (Making Movies)that incorporated piano on the tracks, before they fell prey to the whole "more is better" 80's thing where they added keys, sax, percussion, etc.
Also dug the first three Crowded House records. I was lucky to see them in Seattle at Bumbershoot on what I think was their first USA tour in 1986. The Finns are a New Zealand/Aussie treasure.
