I was a HUGE fan of Led Zep back in the day, but my appreciation has faded, more than for most bands of that era. I do still enjoy their first four albums, in small doses. Still my faves. There are times when Plants voice really annoys me.In fact I liked his voice better when he did the 50's/60's tunes in the 80's.He had the good taste to cover my fave Ben E King record Young Boy Blues(tho not anywhere near as good): Yeah, I'd agree with that. You're talking about the Honeydrippers, right? His Band of Joy had some of his best singing as well.

Yup Honeydrippers. That 70's whine drives me crazy at times.I actually liked when he sang with Jimmy Fallon on his show a few years ago he had Fallon do the bass and Plant did Duke Of Earl.

I have a few Robert Plant albums but for his older stuff I only have a compilation, so I thought "Nine Lives" was the name of the album all some of these hits were on, not the name of a boxed set that just had a bunch of albums lol, because the cover art on youtube said Nine Lives lol.
But anyway, from the compilation, Sixty Six From Timbuktu, there are just so many incredible songs of his on there, and I really LOVE his post Zeppelin stuff.
And my favorite cover of his:

The Raising Sand album he did with Alison Krauss (voice of an angel), which T. Bone Burnett produced, was sublime. That one never gets old to me.

Driving home from a Dr's appointment the other day I heard this song for the first time in a while and something dawned on me which hadn't before. And I'm a Joe Jackson fan so I'm surprised I never noticed this before, but:
OOOF. That is like... note for note.

Good catch.
I always enjoyed Badfinger, I guess the world can always use more Beatles clones.

When I saw BOC at the Bottom Line in '79 Joe Jackson was in the audience.I bought that first record.

Question for you-have you watched the tv show Utopia.I just ran off the first two shows and wondered how the season was.

But there is just SO MUCH TV to watch and I'm so busy with studying at the moment. But come this time next week I won't have to study for a WHILE (unless I don't pass the exam lol) so that show IS on my list

And let's not confuse The Ivey's with Brooklyn's own Ivy Three-Record Exec Charles Koppleman was in this group:

Of all the versions of the great John D Loudermilks Tobacco Road this is still my favorite.Piano man John Hawken was in early Renaissance and The Strawbs when I saw them with BOC at the Commack Arena:
