Cry of Love! Boy were they good....and what you see/hear was what you got. Just old fashioned hard rock!

I was never really familiar with Patti Smith's work, but the following was used as the opening theme song in the series "Daisy Jones and The Six" we finished up awhile back. The song drew our attention, especially my wife's who found this lyrics version. From 1979, produced by Todd Rundgren. Looks like there are about 20 cover versions of the song. Apparently some of the "suits" wanted her to change "heroine" to something else because of a possible inference to "heroin". She insisted it was NOT and I guess explained the song to them, so it was left unchanged. I don't remember the exact details of this.
Anyway we found this a different and interesting listen.

Faure. Was rewatching Better Call Saul (Season 6 hits Netflix on the 18th) and Charles McGill sits down to play this piece so I had to hear it In its entirety and have had it on rotation. (McKean is fantastic in his role as older brother Chuck)

DFTR from BD Archives Vol 3 (sorry can't seem to paste a link to this one).
Wow...everytime I listen to this version of DFTR, I am just in awe of Buck's solo work (all of it) and especially at the end where Buck is just tearing it up endlessly. The whole song is awesome like the BOC studio version but that lead in this version...oh my God...I can't get enough of that!

Ever once in a while I give a listen to an album that I haven't heard thru in a while.....last week was Love Over Gold by Dire Straits. A masterpiece from beginning to end....and to think....the song Telegraph Road, all 14 minutes and 18 seconds used to get air time on FM radio. Dire Straits also produced some of the finest audiophile albums; always crisp/ tight sound.

An unlikely collaboration featuring Jeff Beck on lead guitar while David Gilmour plays Bass! Ringo on drums and Jan Hammer on keys to boot. A wonderful production I wouldn't have expected to ever happen...but it did!

According to Sam Judd, Allen once told him he had an (uncredited) hand in the composition of this one...
