I am getting cramp reading about the bloody Cramps on Bucks Euro Diary!! Back on track time. Only managed one gig on this tour due to the uncertainty about my hospital admission but the Glasgow gig was well worth it. Bit disappointed that we didn't get some of the obscure 1st album material that was played earlier on in the tour, but Career, Joan and Astronomy more than made up for it. The band always seem to pull a wee bit more out at the Glasgow gig, don't know why. First gig in the city for 9 years but it was well worth the wait. They were as tight as hell and It was great to see Danny back. Nice to have a chat with Buck and Eric after the gig. Let's hope it's not another 9 years or I will be there with my zimmer or mobility scooter....lol! Glasgow, one of my favourite cities, I saw the Cramps there once ! But seriously I'm sorry you didn't get the first album stuff there, at Manchester the 1st album played in sequence was absolutely spellbinding. What both gigs have in common though is that the band were tighter than a very tight thing on tight day, in forty odd years of gig going & gigging I've rarely seen a band so on top of their game as the guys were last Sunday night. Buck's playing was a particular highlight. I really only have wishes; 1: With the band playing this well, a new album would a truly special thing. So how about it guys? When opportunity arises how about getting into that studio? 2: I really hope we don't have to wait too long for another UK tour. Personally I'd love to hear Secret Treaties in its entirety. But I'd settle for Tyranny.

You are spot on Lux. Nothing against Kasim, but I have always liked Danny doing the bass duties. He just suits BOC. I hope it turns into something permanent. If the album happens I am pretty sure they will tour it. Glasgow shocked me. In 2008 (last visit) they just about filled a boat with a 400 capacity. They played a 1300 venue on Thursday and had a great turn out. I have heard nothing but praise from people that were at the gig. I knew four people that had never heard any BOC albums and that went along solely to hear Reaper ( was on their bucket list of songs they wanted to see live) Spoke to them outside and they were totally blown away with the bands performance and are now kicking themselves for not going to see them before in the city. They appear to be getting more popular as time goes by and its thoroughly deserved. I can just about guarantee that all that were at the Glasgow show, will be at the next one, if and when it happens!

Ha, we did a last minute key change on Astronomy and the fingerings were all different. But I suspect we'll be playing Astronomy more now than we had. (Which was never.)

Well, I think, in general, it might be a good move to "re-tune" a few songs in a downwardly direction to make it easier to do them justice... for example, I liked the way everybody filled in on the "Astronomy - a star" bit... "Astronomy" is a great song, and with a little "re-jigging", maybe this and some of the other great songs in the BOC back catalogue could find their way back into consideration as part of the regular setlist rotation...

I mean, who EVER thought you'd play "Redeemed" live... unthinkable... nearly as unthinkable as playing Cagey"...

Yeah sounds reasonable but for the ham fisted like me buying one would be easier. Buying one would be easier if you could find one you would want to buy... so maybe it's like Mary says - to break out of this circular predicament, it might be worth "doing it yourself"... Mary - is this something you've actually done in the past, or is it something that you've heard of people/friends doing...? There is a learning curve involved, so I would suggest practicing on old or cheap t-shirts until you perfect your technique. I don't know if you have "pound stores" the way that we have "dollar stores" where everything is a dollar, but that may be a good place to get some cheap T's to practice with. Then just follow the suggestions on the package for the transfer paper, like when you trim the paper after printing your design, be sure to include a pull tab so you can pull the paper off after ironing the design onto the shirt. That's an important step that some people overlook. And if you have a steam iron, empty the water out and let it dry before using it for this, so that you don't inadvertently steam your transfer paper. And I always use a press cloth whenever I iron anything so that I'm never placing the iron directly on the item that I'm ironing.

Ha, we did a last minute key change on Astronomy and the fingerings were all different. But I suspect we'll be playing Astronomy more now than we had. (Which was never.) At the Manchester show lots of people in the crowd were shouting for Astronomy, more than were shouting for The Reaper in fact. Which makes a change. Personally I couldn't fault the set list that night even without Astronomy, something has to be left out. I'd love it if the band (after Agents & the 1st album shows) continued to perform their classic albums in their entirety. Secret Treaties would be really special & we would get to hear both Cagey Cretins & Astronomy. What a night that would be!
