Ha! That surprised me. Version is a long way away from the cowbell, ain't it? A very long way from the cowbell! Just thinking wow...how many different genres and modes of media DFTR has penetrated. Awesome!

The "official" (1) lyrics from the old BÖC website: FIRST VERSE: All our times have come Here but now there, gone THIRD VERSE: Valentine is done Here but now there gone FIFTH VERSE: Love of two is one Here but now they’re gone (1) Caveat: I say official only because that's what was published by BÖC. Buck and I had a friendly discussion awhile back on the lyrics of Perfect Water and LDOM, and there were a couple of "discrepancies". I forget the details, it's here on the forum somewhere. I think on one or both he performs with a couple of minor words different than the published lyrics. I never even noticed the there vs they're difference. Both would sound exactly the same to me.
For completeness, I checked to see what the old printed "Fan Club" lyric book showed.
In it all three verses have "they're" instead of "there".
Moral of the story: Never FULLY trust any printed/written BÖC lyrics you stumble on. Some may always remain a mystery.
So they're you have it.

The Tom Rhodes cover of Reaper has been released as a single, it's already the second most popular cut on his Spotify recordings. I really like his version.
And I like him across the board. A singular style, and I like listening. I wonder how he got the gig to cover Reaper for the video game? Great choice!

Another great Reaper cover as a duet with Violet Orlandi and John Young. Love their unique harmony on this....different but works nice for them. Well done version....

They all take some ‘getting used to’ for me. It’s like reading a book and then seeing the movie. The book is always better. Same with DFTR. I just can’t get past BÖC’s version. To me, there is just no comparison. I will say I did like the video production!

Agree that I've never heard any that compare to Buck and BOC...but it's nice to see young talented musicians appreciating DFTR enough to cover it. I especially like when they treat it with respect yet put their own flavor to it like here....

Now that was different! Kind of a surf rock version...I'm gonna guess that Buck might like this one!

Here somebody put together a Reaper Challenge of 20 DFTR covers.
The challenge is to listen to as many versions of this song and remember which one you liked the most.

Technically MAYBE a cover since The Buck Dharma Band performed it, not BOC itself.
Performed by:
Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser Sandy Roeser Danny Miranda John Miceli
From the "Miracles DO Happen" Ricky Browning Benefit Concert This is the whole concert, below starts at DFTR. Many thanks to Chuck for help making this happen.
