Where I live in FL, there's some big diamond back rattlers living on the island. They don't show themselves much, they avoid humans, but you see them every once in a while. They're big, fatter than old Schwinn bike tires.

Steve Morse and his family came down to our gig in Ocala last Saturday. Great guy and great player. He lives close by. Had we known, we'd have made him play. Here he is with Jules and me. Attachments:

Here's an oldie. Albert Bouchard and Don Roeser's triumphant return to Clarkson College, after DFTR was a hit. We both dropped out of Clarkson after our sophomore year. We returned to entertain the tech'ers 10 years later.

Not forgetting: you'd also returned even earlier to Clarkson - on 9 Dec 1971, with Mahavishnu Orchestra and The Byrds...
On a related topic - you often see it quoted that you were a "chemical engineering" student at Clarkson, but Albert reckons it was "electrical" - is that right?

Wasnt everybody a chemical engineer of sorts in the late 60's ?

Memory is coming back, the Soft White Underbelly played a club in Potsdam before BOC and Joe Bouchard. Andrew Winters was in the band. So we went back three times, unless I've forgotten anything else.

The results musically of those experiments were a rousing success....for that we can attest ! LOL
Im a tame lap dog these days thankfully but wouldnt change a thing from that crazy period in time. The best music in the world came from it...at least partially because of it. It was a magical time in so many ways and a fond memory.
Cool thread. What else do you have stashed Buck ? Dig thru an old box or three !

Buck, any old, odd acetates, test pressings, recordings that you treasure and saved over the years. You know that's right down my alley!!! Dan

I remember Jani Lane from Warrant complaining of all the excess hoopla made in the wake of his Cherry Pie song, judging cherry pie eating contests and such.
Buck, what manner of chicanery did BOC go through in regards to actual oysters?

By the way - if we're broadening it out to Potsdam, rather than just Clarkson, then BOC also played the Maxey Ice Arena (Potsdam University) on 28 Sept 1982 - but obviously, that one was without Albert, so it was just your return...

It might have been Les at that club gig, I'll ask Eric if he has any memory. I know my wife Sandy, who was still in Potsdam then, has a snapshot of us. I'll try to track it down, but it's likely not where we are now. The specific dates are becoming a blur. I remember the broad evolution, but it's hard to recall specific events without prompting.
I think radio stations have done promotions around BOC dates with oysters as the hook, but we never got involved with much food. Of course, our heyday was before food became a big deal like it is now.

If Sandy has ANY pics from those early days, that would be VERY interesting to see!! > The specific dates are becoming a blur. I remember the broad evolution, but it's hard to recall specific events without prompting.I'm currently mapping out a whole new section to the Hot Rails site - covering everything up to 1972: Clarkson, Hobart, Disciples, Travesty, Lost & Found, SWU etc etc, so there may well be a spot or two of "prompting" from me in the future (just for a change): For example, any memories of this show?:
