Looks like DFTR showed up inside a PBS program. Looks like it aired on 10/19/2023 "You Gotta See This! By Peoria Magazine is a local public television program presented by WTVP."
You can skip the stuff at the front, the intro to the segment of the program starts at 13:55

More of a personal experience "hearing" story from today than an actual sighting...
Hearing DFTR on the radio "seems" to bring me good luck; I hope the trend continues.
Wife and I were waiting in the parking lot of my oral surgeon's office for an ongoing dental work appointment. Yea, really fun.
We got there early and were pushing radio buttons trying to find ANYTHING interesting to listen to. I then hit on DFTR, then the volume got cranked up! We caught it about half-way through, but even half of DFTR put me in a better mood than anything else I had heard today.
Went in, getting ready to be put under, the surgeon was waiting on a tech for something, so he told me I might have good luck on this one. I said maybe so because I just heard a song by a friend of mine on the radio in the car. He asked what it was and I said "Don't Fear the Reaper" created / written / sang / played by Buck Dharma. You mean of Blue Oyster Cult???? Yep, that's the one. He asked if I actually really did know him, so I gave him a ~15 second rundown. He wondered if I was from New York since that's where BOC started out. Nope, met him for the first time in line at a hotel before a concert. He was impressed at the whole thing!
So Buck take pleasure that you and DFTR are known even to oral surgeons halfway across the country in 2023!

Just heard it in the trailer for the upcoming movie about the von Erich wrestling family which if you’ve never heard of them is one of the most bleak and depressing stories in wrestling history, which is saying something. DFTR is a great choice in that regard.

Heard it last night in the movie titled X. This sighting has already been mentioned in this forum at buck-dharma-forums.freeforums.net/post/17994 , but I thought I would add a little since they put DFTR to very good use.
MY THOUGHTS:
This was a low budget-looking horror flick reminiscent of the adult themed slasher flicks of the late 70's/early 80's. The kind that I watched a lot on TV and at a local drive-in movie theater (I had a source for free passes so I watched all or part of a LOT). Remembering how bad some of those earlier films were made X entertaining in it's on way since I hadn't seen one in awhile so there was a comedy factor to it. Even my wife kind of liked it and we had to pay attention since we didn't know when DFTR would kick in.
The placement of DFTR in the movie was perfect: the first kill of the night! The song wasn't just thrown in there, the scene was choreographed around it or the other way around, I couldn't tell. The sound level of the song was raised and lowered depending what was happening at the time. Sometimes just in background, other times almost describing what was going on. Lyrics were also placed at appropriate times, as was the guitar solo. A large part of the song was played coming in and out as appropriate. The meaning of the lyrics in the movie weren't exactly as Buck intended when he wrote the song, but hey this WAS a horror movie and we know DFTR is a go-to for such things.
Even if the movie was cheesy, I did appreciate the effort they made to have DFTR match the scene. I'm biased of course, but to me this was probably the most entertaining part of the movie!
DFTR lives on and probably will even after all of our times have come.
FYI Donald Roeser was properly credited as the writer and BÖC as "performed by".

To hear G'n'R's "Welcome To The Jungle" in a rain forest would be to me, weird! 'Specially with Pygmies with blowguns and spears peering through the fronds at the hapless arrivals.
I'd be thinking, "This isn't what Axl had in mind!"

DFTR will NEVER go away. Which is good. Someone will always come up with some clever way to use it.
Here's the latest find:
The "Don't Fear the Reaper Chicken Wing Challenge" at The Garden Grille and Bar, Hilton Garden Inn, Feb 15, 2024. Location unknown. Looks like some company's team building event or something, couldn't find the back story unfortunately.

Watching Resident Alien and reaper shows up in a pretty prominent scene taking place on Halloween, with the guitar solo timed to fit a really tense and heartbreaking scene as well. Pretty killer use of it. Great show as well. Alan Tudyk was BORN to play an alien poorly fitting in with humans 🤣

Not a sighting of the DFTR music, but there is a recent church article, not sure if used in a sermon, that uses the concepts of DFTR.
From the one page article the author says:
"... the song neatly summarises a way of thinking about the never-ending process of life."
and further down:
"... What if we all followed the advice of Process thinking, or just listened to Blue Öyster Cult, and stopped trying to stop the perishing, and instead looked for what is becoming? ........."
