Harvest Moon is a true classic. A "must play" at every concert. Never get tired of listening to it. To me Hammer Back had a really good start, but then just got repetitive after that. Carrying a handgun with the hammer back and the safety off is generally NOT the thing to do unless you are completely ready to use it - now. Accident ready to happen. I think they could have done something with that to continue the song on. Something like some guy (or girl) carrying it in their pants pocket or tucked down under their shirt stuck down in their pants under their belt. Done tastefully of course. Hammer Back is more about always being ready to go not a gun safety lesson. I know. My comment was basically a joke. I did know a LEO that was doing something flaky with his gun and shot himself in the foot - literally. That's part of what fueled my comment. :)

I had a boot I was training right out of the Academy in 1987 that torched a round of #4 buckshot right through the roof of the patrol car with the patrol shotgun. He tried to lock it down in the saddle lock with a round in the chamber and hit the trigger. Blew about a 6 inch hole through the light bar. I couldn’t hear out of my right ear for a day or so. He swore he unloaded it.. Good times..

If there's one thing I don't understand about Americans, it's this frigging obsession with guns... only four types of person should have a gun of ANY sort:
(a) local police armed response units (b) military personnel (c) mad old farmers who really dislike badgers (d) dangerous criminals
If you are not (a), (b) or (c), and you have a gun, then you're (d) and are therefore liable to be shot by (a). That way everyone knows where they stand. Until the US decides to amend that ridiculous Second Amendment nonsense - and by "amend", I mean rip it up and replace it with something sane, things aren't going to get any better, and more and more school kids are going to be sacrificed on its bloody altar...
In the meantime, every politician who has been paid a backhander from the NRA should be forced to have the dollar amount of their blood-soaked bribe tattooed on their forehead, so that when they're being interviewed on TV and offering their usual - obligatory - "thoughts and prayers" for the victims, viewers will be able to work out the price per dead body using a simple bit of arithmetic...
Other than that, I think guns are great...

There are over 70,000 FELON IN POSSESSION OF FIREARM CHARGES each year in the US. OVER 5,000,000 AR 15 style weapons went through yet another day not magically jumping off the shelf and killing someone. Shall NOT be infringed. Buck take care. Please have my account deleted.

We've veered off into a contentious topic. I think we should be able to listen to, tolerate and be able to make the argument of any side of an issue, to truly understand it.
I want to avoid setting each other off here to the point of line-in-the-sand upset. We ARE going to disagree on many things. It's just the way it is.
So let's not talk about firearms anymore. It's partly my fault. I chimed in.

It's partly my fault. I chimed in. Well said and I agree 1000%. There are always two or more arguments to be made on any issue. And you can only educate one another by having open and honest dialog. I definitely have an opinion on the issue that led to Buck's graceful and kind intervention and I agree with him we shouldn't get to that point of "line in the sand" so some topics will naturally need moderation to maintain a peaceful forum. I know I'm fairly new here but I have to say I have great respect for all of you! I don't think anyone was trying to "trigger" or troll...there are some things that are just so polarizing that maybe a forum of fans and friends isn't the best place to hash those certain things out. There are plenty of other forums where we can and should have passionate and honest discourse on such things. On here I think we have plenty of common ground with our love of Buck, BOC, other great music and the myriad of other cool subjects we all engage in. You guys are all great and I believe we can get by a little "dust up"!

Oh well, at least Beat 'em Up is safe to discuss without causing a rush on beta blockers.

After all the comments regarding HF I revisited Real World today. I have been trying to play this song on my acoustic for 25 years and still continue to fail. Just can't seem to get right.

Buck has a few videos on YouTube, I think made a few years back, where he does a short demo of how to play some of his songs. I wish he would return to doing more of those kinds of videos and maybe a little more in depth and longer. I’m pretty sure he is quite busy these days with concerts and writing new material for the next album (hint) so can’t commit to the task.. Maybe you can put a request in to see if he might do a short demo, that is if he has the time, and see if he bites.
And while I’m thinking of it I’ll just ask here. Back in the 80’s Buck had a series of articles in one of the Guitar magazines of that time. I think they were some suggested practice exercises or such. Does anyone remember these articles and if they can be obtained on line somewhere?
